"You make my speakers go Boom, Boom..."

We all remember the excitement when it was announced Luke Bryan would be coming to Toledo in February. Well I do anyways! Of course I am obsessed with him :) Chris and I seen him twice before, once on tour with Tim McGraw and  a few years back before he was making "speakers go boom boom" lol sorry I had to. Anyways he was at the Rib Off 3 or 4 years ago and we sorta paid attention while we scarfed down our ribs and lemonade. Who would have thought that just a few years later he would sell out venues in 90 seconds... literally his tickets for Toledo sold out in less than 2 minutes. Even with 2 computers, my iPhone and a Kindle trying to snag tickets I was unsuccessful. Totally bummed. So we waited it out to hopefully snag a deal last minute on StubHub. That was a fail... I love Luke Bryan but no way I was paying $150 for a ticket in the nosebleed section. But then I had another idea... where was he the rest of the weekend? Sounds kinda stalker like but hell it is Luke Bryan and I was determined. So Grand Rapids, MI it was. About 3 hours north... we were going! Tickets on StubHub were not the greatest seats but they were super cheap and we had the weekend off so why not? I love making last minute road trips! So after finally getting Audrey off to Donnas, horrible snow squalls, traffic jams and over 5 hours in the car we finally made it to our hotel just in time to get ready and head to the arena. At that time I was kinda regretting this because it seemed like such a hassle but I was determined to see Luke!

Florida Georgia Line and Thompson Square opened for Luke and they were amazing! Yes, our seats weren't that great but heck, we were there!

Thompson Square did a tribute to the troops which was amazing! I was a sobbing mess to say the least. Then it was time for Luke! We had a great time and I am so glad we went! It was thrown together last minute but totally worth it. Now to look forward to George Strait in Kentucky coming up quickly. Now that is a cowboy that I cannot wait to see :)

Sorry for the awful photos... just cell phone pics and they definitely do not do justice to the night!

"This isn't my first Rodeo..." Well actually it was...

Our first trip to the rodeo here in Ohio... what a blast! It was the PBR invitational so I guess it was kind of a big deal. We had so much fun! This was a first time for Audrey and I and this was right up our alley. Cowboys, bulls, Audrey loved the clowns and little dogs. Chris was trying to teach me all the rules and what was actually going on (I was just watching the cowboys with the tight jeans) When I told my dad we were going he said, "you guys really are some redneck hicks aren't you?!" And really we aren't we just enjoy the simple things of life and not the hustle and bustle of the city and crowds.

Ice cream and guys getting thrown off bulls.. she's a happy camper!

Looks like something we will do every year!

Time for a little motivation: The Glass City Marathon

Helllo blog community it has been awhile. Seems like I just can't find the time to sit down and get a blog post done lately. And it seems as if life is fly by so quickly... heck, we are half way through February already! Anyways, after a few days of thinking it over I have decided to run the Glass City Marathon this year! We all remember the great love and support I had last year for Team Miller and all the great family and friends that came out to support me while running the marathon for Chris and Alpha Co. while they were deployed to Afghanistan last year. That was definitely the highlight of my year! Well homecoming probably topped that but the marathon was the best part of my year while Chris was deployed. Anywho, I didn't have much time to train last year juggling Audrey, school. work and Chris being gone so I finished that sucker in 4 hours and 45 mins... but hell, I finished it! And was welcomed by a swarm of Team Miller supporters wearing their red shirts and carrying flags! Amazing :)

Pre Marathon with some of the runners and supporters!

This year with Chris home I want to do something different. First, I have no excuse not to really train for this sucker. Chris is home a lot on the weekends now and there is no excuse for me to not fit in long runs. Also, I want to give back to one of the organizations that was our biggest supporters during Chris' deployment. (More to come on this... I have to get this plan in order first) And sadly Chris will not be able to be at the marathon again this year due to military obligations he has on the day of the marathon. But he will be in the states and he will be in Ohio so I cannot complain :) So with about 10 weeks to get my butt in motion the Glass City Marathon will be here before I know it! Again this year in support of our troops!
