Audrey has been waiting patiently for two months for her first concert ever! The Fresh Beat Band is taking toddlers by storm and Audrey loves them so when I found out they were coming to Ohio we had to go! Tickets were selling out very quickly and the Detroit show (ideally, the one we wanted to go to) sold out before we could snag tickets so Sandusky on a Friday night was our best bet! Every morning after Audrey would ask me if her dad is coming home she would in her little sleepy voice ask if it was time to see the "Fresh Beats" as they are called. Anytime I would tell someone where we were going they would look at my like I was crazy! You have to have a toddler between about 2-4 and have turned on Nick Jr. even once in their life to even have a clue. They have music video and songs that come on and every time they would Audrey would go into full blown dance moves. I had to take her to see them! So a half day of school and out Rt. 2 we headed to Sandusky on Friday night!!
At first I was really sad that Chris would not be going with us. When we seen Disney on Ice in December I was overcome by emotion because I was sad it was just Audrey and I because I knew we would have really liked that too. This on the other hand, he would have been miserable. I mean of course he would have loved to see Audrey dancing and happy but like most dads there he would have been sitting there trying to figure out how fast he would get to a beer. I mean they did sell beer at the concession stand so maybe it wouldn't have been that bad for him :) This band can be kind of obnoxious but the kids loooove it! So a girls night it was, just Audrey and I!
Ready for our road trip!
Quick nap!
Thank god for nice weather... I did not take that into account when I bought these tickets a few months ago. But a beautiful afternoon for a road trip!
We got there an hour early so we walked around downtown Sandusky for a little bit but it was much colder out there by the water than at home.
Of course we found a Christmas store!
To bad it was closed when we got there...
Okay it was getting cold, time to head in!
We were at the Sandusky State Theatre and it was absolutely beautiful!
Once we got in and found our seats I could not get her up.
And we were still very early!
But she was afraid she was going to miss the "fresh beats"
As soon as kids started walking in with these light up things and glow sticks... that got her moving!
A new T shirt and a glowing wand and we are happy!
Now we are ready!
This theatre was gorgeous!
I really wish this picture would have turned out! This was her expression when they first came on stage!
And they there are... the Fresh Beat Band!
"Mom! It's Twist!!"
They really did put on a great show for kids! Hey I had fun too :) Audrey danced almost the whole time! I was definitely the mom in the orange in this video! Chris would have been so embarrassed but Audrey and I had so much fun. 3 is such a great age!!
And their tour bus!!
A great girls night it was!
