Anyone who has known me for any amount of time knows that I hate to clean. I mean most people hate to clean but I do everything to avoid it. Well obviously that leads to a mess when you have a 3 year old and puppy. So I have been really trying lately to not let the house take control over my life. I get so anxious or annoyed when the house is a mess but do not have the time to do it. It mainly comes down to organization for me. I am completely unorganized in our small living space. I really wish I was OCD about cleaning because that would make this much easier. But I would definintly rather watch a movie with Audrey or make a craft than mop the kitchen floor... duh.
We are waiting until Chris comes back from deployment and I am done with school to buy a house. Because no offense Ohio, but 25 years here is long enough for me! So for now Audrey, Hudson and Oliver share this two bedroom townhouse/ apartment thing that I swear was built in the 1800s.. no joke the stuff around her in ancient. I mean its not bad we have a cute little patio and yard but we are quickly running out of room everywhere. When Chris comes back we will definitely have outgrown our home. Not good.
So my new mission in all of my "spare time" is to become organized in the space provided. We will be here until at least September so I've got some time to work on this. So today I will start a new project every week to hopefully improve the living space and declutter our life! I found this great website that has ideas on what to work on every week because obviously to declutter an entire house in a day or weekend in absurd. Here it is, my organizational life line!!!
Every week I can work on one specific part of the house and I have the whole week to do it. And if time permits I'd like to get a few done per week. They started at the beginning of January so I will start with that week and just go in the same order. So this week was Operation: Organize kitchen counter tops! Our kitchen is not to big and definitely does not have enough counter space. But after using the tips provided I can now utilize the space that we do have! I found a "home" for appliances we do not use daily and cleared much of the other "stuff" that was there! Now much more room for cooking and baking (ehh, not to much excitement there) and hopefully the kitchen will now be much more usable. Next weeks challenge is to take on the cubpoards and pantry. I started a little bit today and will finish that up this coming week!
Check out this website it really does have a lot of helpful tips for organizing your home.
