Happy "stay in" Halloween 2012

Happy Halloween! And officially the kick off of the holiday season for the Miller family! Compared to the destruction and damage on the East Coast here in Ohio we received minimal effects of Hurricane Sandy. Cold, windy and rainy for a few days but that is all. But we live in Ohio this isn't completely out of the ordinary for the end of October. The one effect we did have was Trick or Treating was rescheduled to Saturday in worries of the weather conditions on Wednesday. Weather was not great but I remember years when it has snowed on Halloween. Either way I was not terribly devastated Trick or Treating got rescheduled so we could enjoy a "stay in" Halloween.

So a stay in Halloween night was filled with carving pumpkins, watching Halloween movies and enjoying time together. Holidays this year will have a whole new meaning since we have Chris home. So we will enjoy every minute of it! This was our pumpkin that Audrey and I carved for Chris last Halloween while he deployed. It's so crazy to think that it was a year ago that we were just beginning this journey now we can spend Halloween together... all three of us!

And the carving began!

Digging right in!

And done! Audrey's on the left, mine in the middle and Chris' on the other end! Carving pumpkins together this year was amazing!

Go ahead, you overbearing parents start the controversy for this picture. Meijers makes Goblin Juice for little kids which is similar to the sparkling grape juice for New Years. Audrey was excited to drink her "kids wine" on Halloween. She has no idea what it even means but she knows that she gets to drink out of a glass which she is never aloud to do and she was excited. Mine of course, was real wine :) Seemed fitting for the occasion.

And pictures with Dad!

So a "stay in" Halloween was a success.  This weekend we will do the whole Trick or Treating thing when the weather is a bit nicer. And then it is full force Christmas season for me! And I am beyond excited :)
