Becoming More Domestic: Pizza in a Pan!

Anyone who knows me knows I do not know how to cook. At all. I mean I have a few things that I can throw together in a pinch but I have never really had to know/learn how to cook. When I lived at home my mom always did the cooking and she's a darn good cook but she never passed down the cooking genes. Then when I moved to Bowling Green, I lived on campus with roommates and it was Ramen noodles and pizza. Not really a lifestyle conducive for culinary magic. Then I met Chris and he really enjoys cooking and he really is a very good cook. He knows what goes good together, what to add to things and they turn out amazing (his mother taught him). So here I am 25 years old and virtually blind in the kitchen. So while Chris is gone I WILL learn how to cook!

I ran this idea by him and he said, "Of course you would wait till I leave to try this!" But this just gives me time to perfect my kitchen abilities... because I know there is going to be fails. Most times I struggle with following a recipe let alone "throwing" something together as he is able to do. I did try some new stuff over the holidays which turned out okay I guess but I have a long way to go. So 1 recipe per week this year or Audrey and I may starve while Chris is gone. Okay no, we won't starve but we may live on cereal and turkey sandwiches. The goal is to keep these cooking adventures semi-healthy but toddler and husband friendly!

So week one: (Keeping it very simple and basic) Pizza in a Pan as I like to call it!

Ingredients:
-Lean ground beef
-Low fat mozzarella cheese
-Bag of egg noodles (just can't get used to wheat pasta)
-Spaghetti sauce
-Pepperoni

Layer all ingredients into a casserole pan and bake at 350 for 30 mins!

And there you have it folks, probably one of the few times I have used this pan!

Now, I am not putting the recipe in hopes that anyone tries this like all those other kitchen savvy moms. It is simply for my own reference, remember I have to be able to do these when Chris comes home.

There are a few things I will change for next time.
1. Leave out the ground beef. It kind of gave it the "Hamburger Helper" vibe.... not a huge fan of that.
2. The pepperonis are just on the top. Maybe cut them up and place them throughout the layers. I mean it is suppose to be like pizza right?

Well my first kitchen critic loved it! Audrey ate 2 bowls that night for dinner! I guess it was a success for my first go at this. I know this was really a simple recipe but I have to start somewhere. I enjoyed it the next day for lunch too. I guess week one was a success!
