One luxury we have right now (that we will soon lose) is that we are able to talk to Chris generally on a daily basis. I can talk via text message during the day and he is able to call at night and talk to Audrey and I just to hear about our day. He went back to Camp Shelby, MS where he will be for 2 more weeks and he will have his phone until then. After that he leaves the states and the communication will be much less frequent. Most nights when he is able to call Audrey doesn't say much on the phone maybe a little "Hi, Dad" or "I miss you" but she doesn't like to talk on the phone to anyone and he knows how she is on the phone so he doesn't take it personal. But for some reason last night her a Chris held a conversation for about 15 minutes. It only ended because it was getting late and I think Chris was beginning to be sad that he was not home. She was just chatting away and these times are the ones I do not take for granted as soon he will not have his phone and not be able to talk to her daily.
Her are a few snipits:
She is such a smart kid but still does not understand why her dad is gone. She continues to ask me everyday why he is not home. We will work diligently to try and help her understand this whole process as it is very confusing when you are 3 years old.
love this!!!
