"For Those Left Behind"

For Christmas Chris got me a Kindle which has turned out to be the best gift ever! I previously did not know much about them other then they were for reading books. But it is so useful in my busy life with the endless things it does and I have started reading more books on it because it is so convenient! One I ran across recently in "For Those Left Behind" by Cherisa Jerez.

What a great read!

It was such a comforting and eye opening book because so many things I was feeling were outlined in this book. I cried, laughed, and had a better understanding of what lies ahead for this year. It is written by a military wife who, just like me, had been through the denial of a deployment. And many other emotions that I was feeling were expressed so raw and so relatable. Also, it opened my eyes to what the soldier goes through while away from their family for such a long time. I quickly realized how lucky I was to be able to be home with Audrey and how lonely Chris must feel sometimes without either her or I for such a long time. Just when I think I have it hard, I look at Audrey and am so thankful to be able to put her to bed every night, while our military members make such a sacrifice going so long without seeing their families.
I recommend this book for any military family, military families facing deployment, or anyone who would like a better understanding of what military member and their families go through during such a hard time in their lives.
