Listen To Your Mother

Yesterday was horrible that is the only way to put it. On Wednesday while at class I noticed an irritation with my contact but didn't have any solution so I just toughed it out for the rest of the day and got home and took them out. They were an old pair and as soon as I took them out my eye starting killing me. Finished out Wednesday okay but when I woke up Thursday my eye was swollen shut. Uh oh. This is not good. It was so light sensitive I sat in the living room with the blinds closed and sunglasses on in my own house. I scratched the cornea of my eye in high school once and I thought that is what happened. The pain was excruciating. So I called my mom... if she could just take Audrey to school so she could at least play outside I would just suffer it out here at home. I could not even walk outside let alone drive so thankfully she came right over. But when she got here she insisted I go to the urgent care center. I kept saying I was fine and I would just stick it out here at home but she insisted so I went (you listen to your mother when she says these things, I now know it looked bad) but I got good news from the doctor... Pink Eye! You must be wondering how I could think this is good news but at least with pink eye within hours of putting the medicine in my eyes I would be feeling better! And I was! By last night the light sensitivity had went down a lot and the swelling began to go down. I never thought of pink eye because I didn't have all that yucky discharge that I figured meant pink eye. And I never remember pink eye feeling like that! I literally laid on the couch and nearly cried most of the morning and I think I tolerate pain pretty good!

So when I woke up this morning short of being a little dry and itchy the eye is much better :) I was totally worthless to get anything done yesterday and I do not have time for that! Thanks to my momma who took Audrey to school and picked her up as well as talked my into going to get my eye looked at. When we get older I think we feel like we don't have to listen to our mothers or we know better but I am so glad I got it checked out. Otherwise I would have still been struggling without those drops!

Since I can't go back to work yet I am playing catch up today. Headed to the library for a few hours and   picking up and disinfecting the house (I can't imagine Audrey getting this) and hopefully I can get this all done early and take Audrey to the zoo later! Excited for another relaxing weekend outside in the warm weather! Happy Friday!
