Seems as if I just posted week #4 post and here I am posting week #5! Not complaining...
The weather has been so nice all week!
We had a chance to get outside quite a bit this week which has minimized our craft making but some fresh air and sunshine was wonderful for both Audrey and myself!
Unfortunately by the weekend Audrey ran a fever and kept us in the house most of Saturday and Sunday... She even said she was to sick for crafts. So I knew something was wrong.
But by Sunday night we did get a chance to get out of the house and go spend some time with the family for the super bowl. It didn't last long and I may have overdone it because she was running a fever and sleeping by 8pm that night :(
You can see the sickness in her eyes... But she stands with her hand on her heart during the playing of the National Anthem at the beginning of the Superbowl. Of course I was crying. Especially when Blake and Miranda sang America the Beautiful!
By today she is feeling much better, just a little bit of a runny nose but no fever and hopefully she will bounce back to normal here in a few days.
As for me, mid week I decided to run the Glass City Marathon so I needed to get outside to get some miles in... I did not want to over do it because I had only been running 4-5 miles inside lately so I took it slow to avoid injury.
Week 1: 21.2 miles with one day of Insanity. Not to bad considering I decided Thursday that I was going to actually train for a full marathon. Gotta start logging the miles next week! We are running this marathon for Chris and all of our troops! We have quickly become "Team Miller" and the numbers are growing already! So nervous to run my first full marathon but so motivated by my husband!
We also got Chris a care package out this week. He wanted a netbook which I learned is like a miniature laptop. It is kind of cute and convenient so I think it will suit his needs well. That way he can Skype, instant message, and browse the web.
I also sent him a little countdown of his own. I mean Audrey and I have our countdowns until he comes home I figured he would need one too!
So why not a huge swimsuit calendar?! I am the coolest wife ever :)
As I was packing the box Oliver jumped in! Chris and Oliver have a relationship I cannot understand. Audrey says they are best friends! Either way, I know that Oliver is aware that Chris is not home and somehow he knew this box was going to him because Oliver never comes around me (I am pretty sure he hates me)
I mean this is how I found Oliver previous in the week...
He is nuts..
Anywho, finished with a card from Audrey and I and the box was on the way!
As for Chris, he is trying to adjust to his new "home" for the next 9 months. He does still have service on his cell phone which is wonderful (but kind of costly) and we have been able to talk to him quite a bit. He called this morning and we talked to him for quite awhile which in turn made me late for class. But I didn't care! It is like life is on hold when he calls and everything else can wait. Talking to him is my motivation to get through the days here sometimes. No matter what he is going through in Afghanistan he always knows what to say to me here to keep me going! I cannot believe it is February already! Time is going fast but October seems so far away. One week at a time and we already have 5 under our belt! Bring on week 6!
